Documents Sent For eSignature

Two-Factor Authentication for eWitnessing

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) can be enabled for Witnesses for added security.

After receiving the email notification with a document link, a 6-digit one-time password (OTP) is sent via SMS to the recipient, who will have to enter it before they can access the document.

To enable this feature:

  1. Go to Presets to view the Experiences tab

  2. Select the first listing called, Base

  3. Click Edit Experience in the top-right corner

  4. In the left menu, scroll down and click on Options

  5. Scroll down to Witness Options

At the bottom, there are three options relating to eWitnessing:

  1. Witness must use signer’s device: both parties must use the same device to sign and witness the document one after the other. The signer first add the witness details, signs and then passes the device to the witness.

  2. Witnessing requires SMS for signer: the Signer receives an SMS message to verify

  3. Witnessing requires SMS for witness: the Witness receives an SMS message to verify

If you don't have the Witness's details to hand, click 'Decide Later'. This allows the previous Party to enter the next Party’s details, i.e. the signer can decide who their Witness will be.
