Mark as Complete

A document should only be Marked as Complete if a signer has printed and completed the document using a “wet ink” signature and both versions of the document now need to be reconciled.

If another recipient has signed the document electronically or you otherwise need a copy of the document in its current state, download the Draft PDF now as it will no longer be available once marked as complete. If no recipients have signed the document electronically, then this step is not necessary.

When you receive the version of the document signed in ink; scan and upload it to your device. Then store the two physical versions of the document together for your records.

You may now mark the electronic version of the document as complete. Documents can be Marked as Complete on the Dashboard by clicking the tick icon on the right of the Document card.

A “Mark as Complete” pop-up will then appear with a dropdown menu offering two options:

“Yes I have a PDF copy to upload” – Uploading a new version of the Document will delete the old version. So only select this option if it’s not necessary to retain the electronic version of the document.

“No, I do not have a copy to upload”- Select this option to keep the electronic version of the document. You will need to provide a written explanation of why you cannot provide the new version of the document.

“Send to Archive” – This option is ticked by default. Once archived your document will remain accessible in the Document Archive. If you do not archive your document it will remain on your dashboard.

Then click “Mark as Signed” to complete the document.

Alternatively, you may want to scan and upload the wet ink document, copy the fields and settings over from the original document, and then send it to your other signers. This ensures there is only one copy of the document, and it is fully certified and stored digitally.

If you simply want to remove a document because it is no longer valid you can do so on the Dashboard.  Removed Documents can still be accessed in the Document Archive.
