Get Verified for API Access

To start developing or using a Legalesign integration, you'll first need to get verified for API access to generate a key.

Contact Legalesign to find out about our ready to go plugins, e.g. Salesforce and Voyager-Infinity.

Developers! Read our API documentation here.

API credentials are assigned at a user level. To get a user email verified for API access, email your request to the Legalesign Support team.

We require some basic information before enabled API access, so please include answers to the following questions:

  1. Company Name:

  2. Company Address:

  3. User Full Name:

  4. Role at Company:

  5. Use-case(s):

  6. Summary of Experience working with APIs: (required for custom integrations)

For instance, a correct API verification request email will resemble the message below:

  • Company Name: ACME Ltd

  • Company Address: 123 Long Road, Cambridge, UK, CB2 9FT

  • User Full Name: John Doe

  • Role at Company: Solutions Architect

  • Use-case: Bi-directional mapping of data from our CRM to Legalesign to create & send documents to our customers, and write back data to customers accounts.

  • Summary of Experience working with APIs: 2 years working with OpenAPI 3.

Once verified, head to the account settings page to generate an API key.

IMPORTANT: You will need to activate Two-factor Authentication for your login before you can generate an API key.

While trialling the software, sandbox restrictions apply.
These include:

  1. A throttle limit of 100 API callbacks per minute

  2. Restricted document sending to five preset emails (see right)

  3. Restricted to a single Team

  4. An 'API Test' banner displayed along the top of the signing page.

To move to Production, contact the Legalesign Support team to arrange a subscription.

Subscribers will be able to make multiple Teams, which can be assigned to Production or API Development on an individual basis. Document Sending from API Development groups remain free of charge after subscription.

An API enabled account ready to send will resemble the above (note the Production tag in green).
