How to use Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES)
Things you must know when using QES
Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) are the highest standard for signature in the UK and EU and we highly recommend using them to sign your document.
Once a Signer is accessing the signature, if they are eligible to use a Qualified Signature then they can choose this option after selecting the signatures to sign.
There are two key things you must know about QES:
1. You need a QES from Digidentity
To be able to use QES signatures on Legalesign, you must already have a QES purchased from Digidentity and their app installed on your mobile.
There is a link available here: https://auth.digidentity.eu/
2. QES freezes the document
This is a key constraint you must understand: once a document is QES signed, the only thing you can do with it is add more QES signatures.
This means:
a QES signature will only appear as an option if subsequent signers (if any) have no fields of their own to complete.
After someone has QES signed, all other signers must QES sign as well.
