What's new at Legalesign: Summer 2026

A new template editor

The new editor is a complete overhaul that offers a far simpler UI but with significantly more capability. Snap guides, multi-select, keyboard shortcuts, zoom controls, and a proper participant panel all make field preparation significantly less fiddly. It’s also embeddable via the Document Viewer component, so it can live inside your own application rather than requiring a trip to the Legalesign console.

If you haven’t tried it yet, look for “Try new Template Editor” in the top navigation.

Advanced field properties

Building on the new editor, conditional field logic is now much more powerful. Dropdown fields can act as controller fields, you can multi-select and bulk-configure fields in one action, and fields can be marked as “Exclude from PDF” — visible during signing but absent from the final document.

Quick Send

Quick Send now auto-creates participants directly from text tags in your PDF. Combined with tagged templates, this means you can go from upload to send in a few clicks with no manual participant setup required.

You can also customise which fields appear on the send screen through your group settings — useful if you want to simplify or expand what’s shown at the point of sending. See the Quick Send guide for full details.

Signer v1.1.0

The signing experience has had a complete overhaul too. The new Signer component is a ground-up rebuild of the signing interface — fully modernised, accessible, and designed to work reliably across every browser and screen size.

Additionally the Signer component is a proper embeddable web component that fits naturally into any application or framework.

The signing interface itself is significantly improved. It’s more secure, more flexible, and built to handle the full range of signing scenarios — including QES, conditional fields, witness flows, and document redirects. Recipients can select their preferred language from 17 supported options, and the interface adapts cleanly to mobile viewports without any of the layout issues that plagued iframe-based signing.

For developers, v1.1.0 adds rich event handling — signingSuccess, signingFail, and fieldChange — so your application can respond to exactly what’s happening during the signing flow, including specific failure reasons like expired sessions or rejected documents. Both the Signer and Document Viewer are part of the Legalesign embeddable components — framework-agnostic web components you can drop into any application.

Billing improvements

Auto top-up is now available. Configure a threshold and top-up amount and your account credits replenish automatically — no more interrupted workflows because credits ran out.

Coming soon: SuperDrafts

SuperDrafts lets you pre-prepare your sending configurations — recipients, roles, settings — and save them ready to go. When a new PDF arrives or you need to send to a new set of recipients, it’s a matter of a few clicks rather than starting from scratch. Coming later this year.
