Legalesign vs Adobe Sign
What is the Difference between Adobe Sign and Legalesign?
Adobe Sign and Legalesign are both electronic signature software with strong compliance and high reliability. However, while electronic signature is but one function within the Adobe Cloud, Legalesign is dedicated esignature software with an enterprise feature-set, UK focus, and responsive support.
The Adobe Sign user interface is designed around the individual user, whereas Legalesign’s focus is on the organisation, providing advanced user access & controls for teams of any size.
The differences between Legalesign and Adobe Sign include:
Legalesign has UK-based data centres.
Legalesign is a UK registered company (This is important because it means we are regulated by ICO and subject to UK data protection law.)
Legalesign has a focus on UK law and its signing is purposed for the UK legal system, although it also incorporates legal elements from around the world (e.g. the US ESIGN Act, and EU eIDAS)
Legalesign has strong GDPR provisions within its terms of service and in its features - Control data retention, deletions, access requests, and blocks, all within one GDPR area.
Legalesign is customer-centric - it delivers excellent support and service to customers - Awarded G2 badges for 'Best Support' and 'Easiest to Do Business With' for Enterprise, get your account tailored to your needs with 1-to-1 webinars and support sessions.
Legalesign is for business professionals - it does not heavily advertise and promote itself to its customer's customers.
Legalesign has a unique eWitness feature for online witnessing, based on guidance from the Law Society, leading financial firms, and HM Land Registry.
Legalesign has a document upload limit of 40MB, allows up to 1000 pages, and up to 99 signers, 99 witnesses, and 99 approvers per document.
Legalesign’s interface provides advanced tracking and search functionality to efficiently manage sent documents across teams, departments, and the organisation.
Legalesign is often better valued, its per-user pricing includes an allocation of 600 documents per year, in comparison Adobe includes just 150.
Legalesign offers a low-risk, high-success implementation plan.
Legalesign pricing is per-month with no lock-in. Although annual discounts are available upon request.
Legalesign is ISO27001 and Cyber Essential Plus Certified.
The main reason for signing up to Legalesign, was their excellent certification process for electronic signatures.
In a post-pandemic world, legislation for electronic signatures and remote verification has been widely expanded, however, it was disappointing to discover that the leading e-sign companies (Adobe, Docusign, etc.) did not cater for simple issues like adding a witness or forwarding signature responsibility.
It was refreshing to see these options available on Legalesign, as well as an excellent support team to walk you through each feature.

A fantastic signature tool that all lawyers should be using!
Legalesign is excellent for managing long and complex documents that require multiple signers and witnesses. I love that you can set up multiple templates, group them in batches, and save them as ready-to-go packs. Approvers can be added to the sequence, allowing packs to be checked before being sent externally for signing.
The tool as a whole is brilliant and offers many amazing features. Legalesign’s support is responsive and super helpful. I didn’t realise you could have up to 99 signers per document. Most recently, I learned that you can add an approver at the end of the process, allowing documents to be dated and executed later.
Legalesign is the perfect tool for any law firm that undertakes a lot of document signing work. It’s far superior to the likes of DocuSign, Adobe Sign, and Signable.
