Personal email and login email conflict

When testing Legalesign you may find yourself being forcibly logged out. This article explains the cause of this issue and how to solve it.

Your main user account in Legalesign is based on one email. If you are logged into the admin web site using that email, and then go to Sign a document based on a new email, in the same browser (in a new tab), then all your logins will start failing: you won't be able to access or sign the document and the web app will force you to logout.

This is because live updates are happening on the Dashboard, and because you are authenticating on the signing page as a different user, in the same browser, those live updates mean the browser has a conflict about who the logged-in user is. That throws up a roadblock on your admin and logs you out.

Meanwhile, your first authentication onto the signing page was successful and so you may have got through to see it. But now you will be forcibly logged out from there too because the admin site logged out all the users in the same web browser. Use the solutions below to mitigate this from happening:

  1. The first solution is to use the SAME email for both logging into Legalesign and for your test signing.

  2. If you need to use another email either log out of the web app before clicking through to the sign the document OR to use a different web browser to sign the document.

  3. When you get the email notifying you of a document to sign, right-click on the link and click 'Copy Link'.  Then paste that link into the address bar of a different browser with no Legalesign Admin.  You will now have no problem going through the signing process.
